Functional or just for show?
Whats your experience and which do you recommend for your model?
I personally have tried only two, a universal one which had such downforce it bent my boot lid and the abarth which makes no extra grip imo just drag. (punto mk2)

Some of the spoilers are effectively deflectors to keep the rear screen clean. A good example is the Alfa 156. Another application of dirt/water deflecting spoilers is the ones you can find on the front edges of truck cabs.
Some others are purely cosmetic.
You will also find some spoilers that actually help downforce, but they won't be a universal solution as such doesn't exist due to too many factors involved.
And then some spoilers are there to help the aerodynamics to decrease drag.
On some mid engined applications spoilers are fitted to encourage airflow out of the cooling area.

So which do you recommend for your car or do you prefer to drive without one?
