Hi guy's I need help getting info about my ecu , i have a 1995 punto 1.1 liter car with no obd socket (not a one i noticed). the only socket i noticed was a 3 pin connector near the ecu (underhood) what is it called? what device can remap my ecu? can i buy it and do it by myself? is that device can also decode it?
have to understand how it works
thanks.

Since 1994 the car is equiped with OBD standard protocol, this does not mean it has the OBD 2 standard socket, the 3 pin connector however you can convert with the OBD socket, I bought a wire from china from ebay that is just plug and play.
It is possible to flash the eprom but also you can get any eprom reader from a local eletricial shop and read and write a new chip at low cost (better as you can revert if it doesnt work as you intend). 16pin I think it is.
In terms of mapping though, I would fully recommend this is left to the professionals as this is an art more than science as nothing is constant.
Please confirm your location and perhaps we can recommend someone?

When you remap the ecu you have to purchase a decoded file, this is what you can edit and load back onto the ecu, it is very difficult to just crack ecu if you dont know what you are doing.
If you just want to remove the immboliser then purchase an ecu that is from an 899 cinq or fire engine between 1994 and 1995.

thanks mate , much appriciated do you know what device pro's use for remapping the ecu? There are many products out there, some easy and expensive, some difficult to use and cheap. I leave my mapping to the professionals and only talk to the ecu for error codes and sensor data (I like to see what the car is doing ignition curve wise and fueling etc). They use dimsport and the other uses Millienium, however the fiat ecu is so old now that some cheap software from ebay might work, you never know. what I would say is always write to a new chip so if you do it wrong you can put back the old one! read this link! clubfirepower.proboards102.com/index.cgi?board=tuning&action=display&thread=1173875651
