Hi there.. Anyone aware of the timescale when the GSR induction kit will be out for the 1242 Panda? Also whilst I'm here, I wonder if anyone knows how far you can go when skimming the cylinder head? can you go slightly above the maximum skim line like on other cars? I have a spare cylinder head from a Punto (same engine as Panda) and was going to get it skimmed and see how much of a difference it makes. Thanks )

There needs to be done a bit more. You can skim it over the factory mark, but you will run into some fitting problems.

Well I know your cento has head work done to it and with the induction a map the car runs at 80bhp on the 1242 engine .. so what needs doing to the standard panda 1242 to get it to 80bhp

What about starting with an induction?
Porting and flowing the head, a proper backbox from Charlie and re-map.

What I find hard to understand is some of the results I have seen on fiat forum GrandeJ had big gain with his GP with just an induction kit and new map but the panda also using the same 8v engine only gets 8hp more with the kit and map ..so why is there such a huge gap in pwer with the two cars

Peter, I have just sent you a PM on here - please can you read it and get back to me ASAP. Thanks PNL: Maybe part of it is down to engine milage - my car needs a good flush through and new set of plugs etc. But I have read on Italiaspeed that the Panda and Grande Punto 1.2 8v engines use a different camshaft - the Panda one more aimed at low down torque. Also, things like throttle body size - are they the same? Things to consider. RR printout: As you can see, the initial torque shoots straight up and stays fairly constant up to 3700 rpm. Looking at the RR printouts on FF, this torque curve is much better than others are getting. I was expecting more of a BHP gain too, but I'm not unhappy with what I've got. The cylinder head Peter has for me should help out quite alot. Do the cars use a generic remap to begin with? Would uploading a Grande Punto 1.2 map to the Panda make a difference I wonder?? The car feels real good though, flat spots sorted and 2700 - 4700 rpm the car really picks up.
