My 1997 cinq sporting has a fast idle problem, not done anything about it yet as I've only just gotten the car but after suggestions on possible reasons and any solutions. Idle is around 2,000rpm when cold then 1,500rpm thereafter.
I intend on doing an engine flush, oil and filter change this weekend as well as cleaning out the breather hose and throttle body assuming they are dirty (which they 99% will be!). Anything else to look for?
I read on another forum that the 2 hoses on the throttle body sometimes get replaced in the wrong order which causes an idle of around 1,500rpm - any truth in that?
