Welcome to the forum andy, setup looks very tidy.
Have you had the mf2 setup on the rolling road yet? Would be interested in your final output.
What boost you running daily?

No i haven't set it up yet on the rollers will be in the next couple of months tho... I broke (trying to untighten) the bolt that goes into the subframe of the car for the gearbox mount so been sorting that out past few weekends, -sorted now though It runs 6psi everyday, but you can drive it ok at half throttle resulting in no boost if you want. -Andy

That is an awesome effort, nice one.
I would love to do something similar on the 1108 mpi engine, but am not technically minded enough unfortunately!
Top Job anyway.

6psi sounds about right re boost, i guess thats around 0.4 bar. You don't want to go mad like these people seem to with other turbo conversions, they wack the boost right up for ultimate power and melt an engine in no miles what so ever.
In the Centos the space is even smaller so more heat generated obviously than your car, and people wack up crazy boost nearing a bar and on a long hard drive the engines really struggle to take it.
The problem with adding a turbo to such a small capacity and small port engine is the heat created inside the chambers. This translates into short engine life... or reduced boost - fine for a track day special or something.
On the other hand I bet your car must fly and it should be nice and reliable too. The head work etc. should make more reliable power too.

A stock 1242 turbo from vanakken made 90something bhp so with the head ported it would be still around the same as before I would say except for more torque (that was with 0.3bar) this was with standard compression also, running more boost with a decompression plate is not ideal.
If the pistons were changed for lower compression ones the whole thing would be better as the squish band is now messed with which is creating a poor mix and less power than it should be making.

Yeah, thats what i thought. LCP have to be the better option than a decompplate.

I chose the decomp plate as it's a cheap option, and allowed me to setup with a fairly cheap engine, pistons are in the pipeline... aswell as new exhaust manifold, etc (so expensive lol)

Sounds excellent!
Good luck with the piston shape and manifold design, thats something I'm glad i am not doing! lol

Did you have the manifold welded to the turbo and turbo downpipe made custom? If so did you do it or did someone else sort you out? Would love to learn the ins and outs of this conversion as would be tempted to do it to Zoe's 1108 Sei, as its basically the same base/ecu. Also how do you go about fooling the ecu, do you use a fuel cut defender, and if so how excactly does it work on the sei/punto 8v mk 2 ecu?
Any info on how to do the convo much appreciated!

James I machined a plate to match the turbo and then welded this to the manifold -this was threaded and studs wound in. I made the down pipe. fuel cut defender is not required, the standard ecu knows no different to normal... when on boost the standard map sensor produces a 5v signal similar to the car having the throttle fully open. -Andy

The car went on the rollers for the first time a few weeks ago.. Running 12psi, with standard fuel, original oil and plugs from initial start up The fueling was out slightly so easily more to come. The gain is also to high on the boost controller... 118.7bhp, 143lb/ft It made 119.0bhp on one run, but blew one of the hoses off lol -Andy
