Having a Panda 4x4, which was re-shaped by jobs but with a perfectly well working drive train and on Cinquecento too many not to tinker with it:
I decided to start the 4x4 project in a Cinquecento.
Progress so far is a fully stripped Cinquecento chassis and a halfway cut up and dismantled Panda 4x4. The weather is getting right to tuck in now even harder.

Cinq 4x4 sounds fine otherwise people will get confused I think.
Which engine do you plan on using? Diesel multijet?

Naming the new car needs some more looking at. The 4x4 is scrapped now. The drive train lying on the floor looks longer than car car did.

This sounds like a very intresting conversion you are undergoing... What engine will you use to power this as the 4x4 Panda engine doesnt offer that much power? I know the Cinq is 200kg less in weight but to make any real point in having a 4x4 Cinq I guess it would be impreza speed

I want to use it as a real off road vehicle. I intend to use a 1108 FIRE engine from a Cinquecento. The beauty is that the Cinquecento and the Panda have got virtually the same track and wheel base. This way I don't need to alter the length of the prop shaft nor the length of the drive shafts. Only major problem is to make a fitting for the rear bracket of the leaf springs as the Cinquecento doesn't have an overhang big enough.

I know you need the rear axle to plug the prop into, but can you not remove the leaf spring arrangement and weld on the original cinq shock and spring arrangement?
Not ideal I know but if the welds are done properly I can't see any issues unless you can?

It might then fall over when I only intend to come near a field.

It might then fall over when I only intend to come near a field. Surely not all 4x4s are controlled with leaf springs... I know what your saying but that cannot be the be all and end all.
