Well, it took me 12 hours on sat but I managed to fit a 1242 8v MPI to my lasses mk2 sei. Goes well at the moment but isnt as quick as I expected it to be. We shall see what its like after a good service and remap.

134cc is not a massive jump, what you will find though is because of the longer throw crank the torque characteristics have improved.
I found with a fairly standard 1.2 and gsr kit my cinq would happily go off the clock.
what other mods does it have? Baring in mind the punto mk2 cam is fairly mild perhaps that is what is the problem?

GSR 40mm TB, Focus kit, supersprint back box.
Std sei MPI manifold (which has been "ovaled" at the bottom for clearance) to be replaced eventually with a mk2 punto manifold.
I dont think there is a problem as such I just think the boys on another forum "bigged" it up to much so taht I was expecting more.
Im happy with it at the moment, roll on mapping. ;D

For cost I dont think you can beat the punto mk2 manifold, but you realise I hope that will be the biggest restriction on the system now.
On the spi models the ecu is much more forgiving to massive changes so much so that most cinqs and seis with this conversion have not even considered a remap..!
Please make use of that 75cam if you do go to the effort of getting it mapped otherwise I doubt you would see much behond 80bhp with that setup.

I may well do that.

That would make it a very simlar setup to my punto when I had it first mapped and it was well over 80 but the manifold as I say was the restriction and shortly broke off at the join where the downpipe and cat meet.
Make sure you fit that OEM bracket from the downpipe to the gearbox as I think this will reduce the chance of failure.

Was that with the std mk2 punto manifold? 2 oem manifolds, 3 supersprints (or the otherway round I cannot remember now). But yes, more power and the engine rocks alot more and the flexi is not taking the rocking like it is suppost to, but as I say, there is an oem bracket which on my car rusted away and in retrospect I believe fiat knew there was a problem and installed it for that reason.
