Wanted to keep it 1.1, but disintegrating clutch and other problems meant I would change engine, which was 'unfortunately' a 1.2.
After mapping, porting and flowing the head, using a 866 cam, a spacer in the exhaust for clearance, a Supersprint back box and GSR test induction it ended up with a fraction over 80bhp on the flywheel and 70lb ft on the wheels.
The throttle body is 30mm with SPI and the exhaust is standard other than the spacer and Supersprint back box.
The engine wants to do more but SPI is limiting it.
Next step is turning it into MPI.

I must say after driving this car today I was impressed, it pulls very swiftly, it will even more when it has its full quota of gears!

Got some overbore piston. And an unwanted 1368 crank. I thought I could put it in a 1242 block (same anyway), which I have somewhere hanging round and make it a 1338cc 8v engine.
First step is done already. The pistons are gone out for some weight removal.

Pistons are now sold because to replace the pistons on the 1368 conrods the old ones will most likely be damaged. I wanted to use them for another engine. But now I will make it a 1368 8v engine.
