Has anyone tried fitting GT injectors to a 75? I'm assuming they have a high flow rate than the sstandard 75 injectors. I assume that the GT fuel rail, fuel pump and probably presure regulator would also be required...but would the 75's ECU cope with the larger injectors?

Its not a good idea to do this.
The injectors with the 75 are fine and will produce the power you can get from the block, however should the time come to upgrade I would be looking at increasing the fuel pressure, but either modification would require a remap and preferabily an aftermarket ecu.
There is something called a spray pattern and if you just increase the injector size you can loose power rather than gain.
However the gt fuel pump I believe is the same as the 75 one at 2.5bar.
You can use a punto mk2 pump (would need modification out and in your sender unit) to a 3.5bar one.
But this shouldnt be necessary until way over 130bhp, even then I would want an inline pump with the standard instead.

thnx for that lowtechguy .....I'm just investigating a few random ideas that sprung into my head to up the power on my 75. So far it has a GSR induction, custom catback and supersprint manifold...with a custom built sports cat coming later this month....a de-cat is out of the question as I don't fancy swapping it once a year. I did look into some headwork...but I'll need a new(or rather better condition) head for that as my current head has been skimmed smegless

Camshaft, vernier pulley and mapping.
You will be close to the 100 mark by then if not more than and the only things left would be the headwork (porting, flowing, skiming, multiangle valve cut, larger valves and use a steel gasket).
Then you can lighten flywheel, crank case breather.
If you use in racing then baffle the sump, lighten and balance the crank maybe.
With the headwork and a good cam you will be over the 110 and poss the 120 mark all dependant on how good the mapping is.

Vernier pulley? How would I improve that? I assume by lightening the weight and probably making it stronger i.e. from a different material. As for mapping...I was looking at a new manangement system from Emerald in Norfolk...there were recommended to me by the head specialist I was in talks with. Camshaft I'll have to give GSR a call at some point...need to get a spare shaft though as I can't afford to have the car of the road for the time being...trip to the scrappies for a spare 866 methinks

It can be on exchange, ie they supply and then you send your old one.
Venier pulley is so that you can dial in the cam properly.
If its anything to go by, someone with a 1.1 turbo fitted one and made an extra 9bhp just from having the cam timing spot on. (theres two types of timing, hardware/camshaft timing and ignition timing).
Otherwise sounds good.

The reason I ask is we used an Emerald ECU on our 1368cc 16V Siecento, we were told by Dave Walker it was the first Emerald to be used with a Fiat Fire engine. All our mapping was done by Chris at www.1320autos.com which is near Kimbolton Cambridgeshire as he is a good friend of Dave and an Emerald dealer. Its a very good ECU and so easy to map, and as Chris has done one now it much easier to start up as there is now a map that can be used as base, as we had to use a K-series 1.4 16V which got it running but it was really rich. As for vernier, Piper do one code is PULDFIRE about £100 from any Piper retailer and available in red, blue or silver anodised finishes. Aaron.

Cheers j333evo...I'm just outside Wisbech. ATM I was at the stage at looking what management options I had...Emerald was recommended to me as I said...had been looking at their website but not had time to go much further than that Gonna head out and look for a spare 866 this afternoon...I'm after a few bits to trim too so I might as well look while I am out
