Well its back from bodyshop, more recent photos in cento rebels seicento section! Engine detailing is getting there! New ECU and map when I come back off hols in just over a couple of weeks! I am hoping that will be it, as my car seems to have more mood swings than a girl at the wrong time of month performance wise! IT never drives the same one day to another and I want to achieve the consistency! I am just hoping this new ECU and map will do the trick as I can't afford to throw away over £400. Thats halfway to a custom ecu! Engine used to look like this on collection! Now it looks a bit nicer Although still a way to go! I will let you know how it all goes as soon as I have the new ecu/map! Then after some final presentation tidy ups I will be bugging someone to help me fit some water temp guges etc! Will defo be at ace in august even if i bring car in on tow rope!

You must desperate if you want to tow with a rope. Stay on the legal side and use a tow bar.

right latest update : pictures to follow tomorrow hopefully.
My downpipe/ exhaust manifold has developed a crack (quickly getting larger) around the lambda boss. Prob cracked due to the odd thump on high speed bumps.
So fortunately managed to get hold of a 2nd hand Supersprint manifold for the engine. Paid a good price (sorry seici did!), and is being fitted tomorrow my me and dad, we will try our best.
Hopefully as well as being slightly better quality than the oem manifold, it should release a few more horses on the rollers. More importantly boost the torque a bit hopefully.
A proper induction will be the final stage.
A few mechanical tweeks need to be made 2 x new lambda sensors which will hopefully eliminate the slight delay on full throttle pick up. As it kicks in like a turbo at the moment.
couple new marelli coils (not cheap ones this time), so I can return oldschools 'borrowed ones'.
fuel pump not picking up properly from 1/3 of a tank or lower (have to keep plenty fuel in the car), so will investigate this.
then hopefully off for another mapping session to finalise the settings and data.
More tomorrow.
PS : articles on way, have nearly re written most of them!

To be honest, I have done something stupid again. I didn't realise there was a stud variation between the mk2 16v punto head and mk 1 16v head so although the ports are perfect, the manifold will not fit. I didn't realise this. Why oh why do they change these things? ?? The manifold I have came off a 1368 punto, and will fit later 1242 16v puntos, but not the early variations (like mine). Or so it seems. So just having to stick with standard manifold and get a new downpipe made up to fit hopefully tomorrow or sometime this week. I can't blame the car, but balme fiat and myself, them for changing the stud configuration.
