After the previous backfire issues which seem to have cleared.
Now have major misfire (started as slight misfire) occuring to the point where since the weekend I can't drive in traffic/slowly. Rev counter 'dies' from whatever rev I am at (counter goes to 0 then back up and down again like engine is dying then coming back to life) when driving. Now doing it most of the time, unless foot is to the ground at high revs. At low engine speeds (up to 4k) it is so fluctuating I am finding it dangerous to drive as it can randomly die as I pull out of junctions etc then pick up again.
Car is also not idling and dies which is also a hinderance in traffic, car also fails to start first time and have been caught out today 4 times at lights when car dies and won't restart! I would have been honked to death had I been in London! Also sounds like a mild backfire before it comes back to life. When i start the car in the morning for instance 9 times out of ten I need to weld the throttle to the carpet and turn it for 3-4 seconds. The 1108 used to start on the button everytime.
Am I on the track in saying coils, or are the sparks likely to be dead? It feels to much of an intermittent fault to be plugs imo.
Leads new in jan. plugs new in jan etc. Has my bad fuelling killed the plugs?
Parents now getting seriously hacked off with the thing. As am I tbh.
The thing has never moved properly anyway since I picked it up, it has a hesitation issue which is yet to be solved, I want to experience the 16v power and so far it feels like its little faster than my modified 1108 (truthfully, not said out of fraustration!). To those who say it made 102 on the rollers (it fluctuates so much one min feels like 40 the next maybe 90 max.
The exhaust is blowing which I think is hurting the lambda readings even more.
May have to get sports cat/centre pipe etc made up locally next week as am doing dissertation and the last thing I need is the d**n thing playing up, I can't travel 200 miles up the country to sort it.
What can I say!! GRRRRR!
